Davy is a boy who lives with his parents and a sibling in Vila Verde, in the CIC neighborhood of Curitiba, Brazil. His family comes from a humble background and faces social and economic challenges; his parents are manual laborers living with limited financial means. In their daily lives, it is his mother who takes on the primary role of caring for and guiding the children.
When Davy and his family arrived at the Divina Providência Social Center, they found a welcoming environment that fostered his human, social and educational development.
Through the activities offered—especially capoeira—Davy discovered his talents, boosted his self-esteem and developed discipline, responsibility, respect and perseverance. With dedication and support, he grew, overcame challenges and achieved a major milestone: becoming a world champion in capoeira.
Davy’s journey demonstrates that when a child receives opportunities, encouragement and guidance, they can transform their own life story. The Divina Providência Social Center played a vital role in this journey, helping Davy believe in his potential and forge new paths for the future.
